Player-Realms Respects Your Privacy
Below is our privacy policy. If you have any questions or comments, please use the contact staff link. In short: we respect your privacy, and will never share your information with any other party!
- What info do we collect? E-Mail address, optional 'nickname', a username and password, the member's birth date, and various network information such as IP address, web browser brand, and what pages are visited on our site.
- Why do we collect it? We collect usernames and passwords in order to control user access. Nicknames, which are optional, are for ease of friendly identification. E-Mail addresses are collected to inform our members of important updates and send forgotten username/password info. Birthdates are requested for help verifying who the owner of an account is, and to attempt to identify if children under the age of 14 are applying for accounts (Policy on Children under 14). Network information is collected in order to judge system performance, and analyze for intrusion attempts.
- How Long Do We Store it? We store members user information for as long as they remain an active member. Inactive members' information will be purged from the system within 14 days on request by the former member. Network information is stored indefinitely.
- How Can This Information Be Removed? All information except network information can be removed by the concerned member contacting us and making a request. By necessity, all such requests will close said member's account.
- How Can This Information Be Viewed? All information except network information can be viewed and altered on the member's Account Information page.
- Cookies? Our site uses cookies to save user login information and store personal preferences. Our cookies do not interact with any other web sites, and they only store username/password information.
- Who Has Access To This Information? Player Realms protects the privacy of its users' information. Principals and volunteer staff of Player Realms are the only people who will ever have access to any of the information we store, in addition to the member. Access to information is limited to only that which is necessary to accomplish specific tasks; for instance, volunteer staff are only given access to user names, e-mail addresses and IP address information.
- Children Under 14 Player Realms is intended for a mature audience of teenagers or adults, and we will not knowingly retain any personal information belonging to someone under the age of 14. As such, we do not permit the creation of accounts by children under 14. For more information, please see our policy on children under 14.
- Will We Sell or Share Your Information? Player Realms does not share information with any other entity at all. We never reveal any of the information we collect beyond those mentioned here.
- Exceptions: Player Realms will share information with proper law-enforcement authorities when required by law or court order.
