Unique Skill Training System

Most other UO shards out there either give you essentially free skills, or it's a seemingly endless, boring grind. The difficulty of our skill gain on Shadowcove is somewhere in the middle, but that's not what's unique about us; What's unique here is how you gain those skills; Find a Master or an Apprentice, and practice your skills together. In addition, you can do 'jobs' and finally even pay gold for your training, if you are more of a loner. Better yet; combine all the methods as you wish, or as your fancy strikes you.

Player-Driven Economy

It's a goal many places have aimed for, but we have it; An economy driven by the players and their activity. There are no 'NPC' vendors to buy or sell to; everything you get comes from another player (or from treasure), and everything you sell is sold to another player.

Vendors have sophisticated purchasing abilities too, in addition to their ability to sell your wares. Set your vendor to buy resources, for example; Tell it how much you want to pay, and how many you want to buy, and just sit back.

A Unique World to Explore

We have a unique world that we based on a long-closed Role Play shard, and then went to work on - taking well over a year to produce something unique to explore. Unique cities, epic dungeons, and broad countrysides await your lust for exploration!

From quaint hamlets nestled in the foothills, to booming cities packed with the sights and sounds of the hustle and bustle. From tiny lairs of minor nuisance creatures, to the cavernous networks of ancient Evil races, Shadowcove has plenty to discover.

Live in the City

Players may purchase homes right in the middle of the bustling city! Don't be relegated to the boondocks! From tiny apartments, to rows of town homes, to the largest manor on the block, own a piece of your favorite city!

Three separate mage specialties to learn, each with their own spells and abilities.

Craft Powerful Magic Items

Vitally important to the economy of the world, dedicated crafters are able to exert their mastery over their skills to create magical items - from the most basic and useful, to legendary weapons of lore!

Town Invasions

The monsters don't sit still in the dungeons. They are coming to invade your city! You must hold them back!

Town Stones

Town mayors are elected, and have nearly complete control over many aspects of their town. Place vendors and guards, set tax rates, even decorate and place important resources! Citizens can help by acquiring their own personal guards, as well.

Dragon's Eggs

Find an egg, and hatch a baby dragon. Care for it, and raise it to become one of the most powerful creatures in the world!
